Overview & Objective
Introhive, a B2B SaaS customer intelligence platform, wanted to add a search function to their marketing website as the amount of content on their website had grown significantly over time. Their site has a resource section which contains several different kinds of media, which needed to be manually clicked through, creating a poor user experience. The search function needed to seamlessly integrate into their existing navigation bar.

After entering a search term, users can select if they want to search the whole site, or only particular sections of it.

Design and Outcome
The search function required thoughtful treatment for each micro-step of the search process. These nuanced states began with a clearly labeled search bar with an outline that darkened on hover, search text and a typing cursor appearing once a user has clicked into the text field, and the appearance of a clear button, a search button, and predictive text once a user has began typing.
Once the user enters their search, they arrive at a results page. Topmost on this page is a search bar containing their most recent search terms, followed by filter tags. By default, the filter is set to All, but users can click on other filters such as Blogs, Case Studies and other media types. Users can enter new queries into the search bar, which maintains their filter selections until the user removes individually by clicking an x in the filter pill, or all at once by clicking Clear All.
This feature launched in January 2022 and was active until August of 2023 when Introhive launched new site updates.
