Feature add for a marketing website
Role
UX Designer
Context
Introhive, a B2B SaaS customer intelligence platform, wanted to add a search function to their marketing website as the volume of content had grown significantly over time. Their resource section contained multiple types of media, requiring users to manually click through each item, which created a poor user experience. The search function needed to integrate seamlessly into the existing navigation bar and allow users to quickly find relevant content.
After entering a search term, users can select if they want to search the whole site, or only particular sections of it.
Process
I designed the search feature to address every micro-step of the user journey. The interaction begins with a clearly labelled search bar with an outline that darkens on hover. Once users click into the text field, a cursor appears and predictive text suggestions are displayed along with a search button and a clear button.
After entering a search term, users can choose to search the entire site or restrict results to specific sections such as Blogs, Case Studies, or other media types. The results page includes a search bar displaying the most recent search terms, followed by filter tags. Filters are maintained across queries until users remove them individually via an “x” in the filter pill or all at once using “Clear All.”

Impact
The search function improved the overall usability of the site by reducing friction in finding content. Users could quickly locate relevant resources without manually browsing, increasing efficiency and satisfaction. By integrating the feature directly into the navigation bar and maintaining filter selections across queries, the search experience felt intuitive and seamless.
This feature launched in January 2022 and remained active until August 2023, providing a meaningful enhancement to the Introhive marketing website and supporting better engagement with site content.
